What is selvedge?

Selvedge denim refers to denim woven on old-style shuttle looms. The term "selvedge" comes from "self-edge," which is the tightly woven edge of the fabric that runs along the length of the fabric. The edge is often featuring a colored line (in this case green and white) as a marker of authenticity. Selvedge is pricy for its durability and quality. It tends to have a tighter, denser weave compared to denim produced on modern projectile looms, resulting in a distinctive, sturdy feel. Selvedge denim is often associated with high-quality, artisanal denim production and is favored by denim enthusiasts for its unique characteristics and vintage appeal.

And what about lefthand and righthand twill??

Righthand and lefthand twill refer to the direction of the diagonal weave pattern in denim fabric. In righthand twill the diagonal lines on the fabric slope upwards and right when viewed from the front side of the fabric. This type of twill is more common and is traditionally associated with classic denim jeans. In lefthand twill the diagonal lines slope upwards and left. While less common, lefthand twill denim is also used in denim production and can offer a slightly different aesthetic compared to righthand twill.
